Maintaining specific environmental temperatures in hospitals, laboratories, blood banks, pharmacies, and other healthcare environments is critical. In the past, temperature was monitored with a thermometer that was manually checked or a complex data acquisition system. These systems required a person to periodically check the system so that any temperature deviation was identified.

The CAS Datalogger wireless temperature monitoring system is a reliable, automated system that provides actionable data. It combines a probe, wireless transmitter, and a receiver that connects directly to your network. With this system temperature data is monitored and recorded reliably and continuously. Furthermore, it is battery powered so it is immune to power failures and totally independent of exisiting HVAC systems.

All healthcare applications require temperature to be strictly monitored and maintained in order to meet health, safety, storage, and quality requirements. Depending upon the application, a temperature variation of just a few degrees can have drastic consequences. In particular, the repercussions associated with product loss. Federal regulations require medical facilities to keep detailed and auditable records regarding system performance. Hardware

The CAS Datalogger wireless temperature monitoring system is a simple, cost-effective solution that ensures that critical data is monitored, logged and archived for each department. This is accomplished via a compact, precise, wireless temperature datalogger that monitors and records temperature and then transmits that data to a networked wireless receiver. The wireless receiver forwards the data to the PC, which stores and analyzes the data. If the temperature is out of spec it notifies staff via email, text message, audible alarm, or printer.

The battery powered wireless temperature recorder is typically installed in a refrigerator, cooler or freezer. The recorder includes a precision external temperature probe. To minimize false alarms the probe can be mounted in an ethylene glycol filled botle, which buffers the temperature reading.

The wireless temperature recorder records and transmits temperature readings at user-defined intervals. The wireless receiver is connected to a standard Ethernet connection. Multiple receivers can provide data to a single computer so a network connection and a single computer allow users to set up a facility-wide network.

Wireless Temperature Recorder

The wireless temperature recorder measures temperature using an RTD probe and transmits the reading at user-defined intervals. It is sensitive enough to be used in small spaces, such as a blood bank, refrigerator, or larger spaces such as an operating room.







Wireless Receiver/Ethernet

The CAS Datalogger uses a wireless receiver that captures the signal from the temperature recorder and sends the data to the PC.







PC

The CAS Datalogger includes PC-based applications for monitoring and analyzing data, as well as notifying staff when temperatures are out of spec.

Regulatory Compliance
Federal regulations require medical facilities to keep detailed records. The software included with the CAS Datalogger temperature monitoring system simplifies this process. The software can store data and provides auditable records regarding the performance of the refrigeration systems.

Digital records are now considered the equivalent of paper records, which eliminates the time and expense associated with saving paper records but requires more diligent preservation of digital records, including backups.
