Kemlite Ltd use the OQ606 data logger to monitor product cure process

Kemlite Ltd is Europe's leading manufacturer of glass reinforced plastic (GRP) sheet products for supply into commercial vehicle, recreational vehicle and building products' markets. Their versatile manufacturing capabilities combined with the light weight and high strength properties of GRP, make Kemlite's products ideally suited to a wide range of applications.

During manufacture an even temperature is of paramount importance to ensure a consistent high quality product. Grant Instruments co-operated with Kemlite Ltd to supply a system that would fulfill these stringent requirements.

A Grant Instruments OQ606 data logger, complete with a specially developed thermal barrier is used with 6 thermocouples, placed at strategic points across the product and then passed through the production process.

The logged data then enables Kemlite Ltd to build up a complete cure profile of the product and produce quality reports.

Sample rates can be up to eight times per second or down to once every two hours whatever is required. Battery powered, using 3 AA cells, gives up to 200 hours of operation at default settings. There are six K-type thermocouple channels and measuring range is -200°C to +1300°C with a logger operating temperature of up to 65°C maximum
