CAS DataLoggers in cooperation with ADwin is pleased to announce the latest release of software for ADwin real-time data acquisition and control systems. This new software, ADwin-CD 5.00.17.01, provides enhanced support for both 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 in addition to older operating systems including NT 4.0, Win 2000, Win XP and Vista. The new upgrade supports Ethernet, USB and Link interfaces for ADwin systems and includes Windows drivers, 32-bit and 64 DLLs, and ActiveX library along with ADbasic 5, ADtools and ADlog. Drivers and examples are also provided to interface ADwin systems with many popular programming environments including C, Delphi, DIAdem, LabView, Testpoint, VisualBasic, VisualStudio.NET, VEE, Matlab, DASYlab, Scilab and Python. The new upgrade is currently available for download from the manufacturer’s website.
The new improvements include the addition of a USB driver for 64-bit Windows operating systems and an enlargement of the “Managing Projects” feature in the ADbasic 5 and TiCoBasic user interface: now files of any type can be added to a project, and diverse settings can be saved in the project file. ADtest has also been upgraded so that calibration data can be backed up in files and restored.
The powerful line of ADwin data acquisition and control systems offers users high performance in real-time for demanding applications including testing automotive components, sensors and ECU's, electrical component test, control of servohydraulic systems, motion control, laser and ebeam control, signal generation and high speed, synchronized data acquisition. These sophisticated systems feature an optimized architecture to provide precise, deterministic operation with response times measured in microseconds. A high-performance local DSP controller manages the data acquisition hardware and works in cooperation with a PC via a shared memory interface that provides transparent access to data and control variables. The ADwin system is partitioned to share the load so that its DSP controls all time- critical tasks, leaving the PC free to handle the user interface, data presentation and data storage.
ADwin devices also provide users with a broad range of capabilities for high speed data acquisition and control including analog inputs and outputs, digital inputs and outputs, counters, CANbus, serial and other industrial interfaces. These advanced devices are available in 3 models: the ADwin-L16 featuring 8 analog inputs, the ADwin-Gold/Gold II featuring 16 analog inputs and the ADwin-Pro/Pro II Series featuring a modular form factor with plug-in modules allowing up to 480 analog or digital inputs all in a single chassis. ADwin systems also offer a variety of other I/O options including CANbus, SSI,
Profibus/Fieldbus, RS-232/485, and signal conditioner modules. Furthermore, these systems are freely programmable in ADbasic to tackle even the most complex projects for data acquisition, machine control, test stand automation or research.
