Auto-Push Historical Data to an External Server

Using Delphin data loggers, users have the option to extend all existing Expert Loggers (100, 200 und 300 models) with LTE/WWAN interfaces. This extension enables you to transfer historical measurement data from the logger’s internal memory to an external server, and also lets users transfer collected data online using an open VPN tunnel. You can also regularly transmit your storage groups as a backup to an external server using FTP push. CAS DataLoggers and Delphin show you how in our latest Technical Article.

Setting up the UMTS Modem:

The LTE/WWAN option does not include a SIM card. You or your customer must acquire a SIM card and clarify the data transfer details with your local mobile telecommunications provider. Delphin supports the following mobile networks: LTE (4G), UMTS (3G), DC-HSPA+, HSPA+, HSDPA, HSUPA, WCDMA, GSM, GPRS, EDGE and GNSS.

For the address settings in the “IP settings” section of the window, you must keep the preset option “Use DHCP” to get an address from your provider. The Expert Logger’s IP address, net mask, MTU and Gateway (if required) are preset and should not be changed.

In the “Access point” section, you must enter the identifier for your provider in the APN field as well as the username and SIM card pin number (SIM-PIN). See the screenshot below:
