VersaLog WiFi Loggers Now Offer Access Point Server Mode

Updated Software & Firmware Offers Flexible Communication Options

We are pleased to announce that the new version of the SiteView software and Versalog firmware now provide AccessPoint Server Mode for the Versalog WiFi data loggers, allowing a direct connection between the logger and host PC. Previously, the Versalog loggers supported only standard server mode, whereby the logger and pc could only communicate through an existing network with a WiFi access point. This provided easy access where a wireless network was already in place but could not support situations where the logger was in the field or at a remote location where there was no existing network. This also posed issues for customers where their IT department did not allow the device to be connected to the in-house WiFi network.

With SiteView version 4.1.3, there is now the option of configuring any of the Versalog WiFi data loggers to be set-up in AccessPoint Server Mode, with its own SSID, security settings and password:

Once the logger is configured, a PC can simply connect to the logger directly over WiFi via the new SSID.
